I am a figurative artist. I am primarily interested in the human figure but when I distance myself from it is to explore the intrinsic abstract quality of objects and the dynamic
between “form and concept”. In my art, the figure is often deconstructed or fractured in order to recreate it.
Sometimes this process results in the depiction of partial beings that duplicate, change and transform themselves, like life itself. Like art itself. At times, my work borders a surreal vein while other times I refer back to periods of the history of art for inspiration. I am most interested in establishing a Gestalt two-way communication with the spectator. I believe art reaches a full circle when it aims and achieves to make of the viewer an active participant of the artistic experience.
